New Political Parties Registration Commission and Deputy Anti-Corruption Commission Bosses subscribe to Oath of Office

State House, Freetown, Friday 3 May 2019 – Chairman of the Political Parties Registration Commission, PPRC, Abdulai Masiyambay Bangurah, and the Deputy Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission, ACC, Augustine Foday Ngombie, have subscribed to the oath of office before His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio.

Parliament on 11 April 2019 approved the PPRC boss and on 30 April 2019 approved the deputy head of the anti-graft agency as public officials after they had earlier been nominated by the President as provided for in the country’s 1991 Constitution.

While speaking on behalf of his colleague appointee, lawyer Bangurah said that they were very happy for the confidence reposed in them to serve in those very important offices, adding that the only way they could pay back was to ensure that they committed themselves to serving the country.

President Bio congratulated and thanked the two for accepting the offer to serve the country in those capacities and assured them of his government’s commitment to providing the enabling environment for their success.

“It takes the collective will of everybody to be able to effect the change that we all want. I expect you both to do your best in your various offices. You can rely on me for any help that will make your tenure successful,” he assured.
