President Bio Completes National Civil Registration Process Compulsory for all Government Workers

State House, Freetown, Tuesday 11 September 2018 – His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio has completed the verification, updating and registration exercise being conducted by the National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) for all civil and public servants in the country.
Shortly after the process, Director General NCRA, Mohamed Massaquoi, thanked President Bio for going through the biometric verification exercise. He disclosed that the process was in line with the request by the Ministry of Finance and the Human Resources Management Office to clean up and then set up an accountable government payroll system.
 
He added that international partners had welcome the exercise because they felt it would drive accountable governance.
 
President Bio said: “Thank you for the difficult task of verification that you have undertaken. I wish you every success as you embark on a process to streamline the payroll.”
 
The national verification exercise started on Monday 10 September and will end on Monday 24 September 2018
