We are pleased to present the tenth edition of The Presidency, and the fifth (5th) edition of 2026, highlighting key milestones in heritage, healthcare, investment, regional integration, energy, infrastructure, and national development under the leadership of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio.
In this edition, President Bio toured Bunce Island, Leicester Peak, and Tacugama, reaffirming Governmentβs commitment to heritage preservation, tourism development, and environmental protection. He also hosted Sierra Leonean crew members of the Global Mercy Ship, commending Mercy Shipsβ contribution to healthcare and reaffirming the Governmentβs partnership.
On investment and infrastructure, the President engaged FirstBank Group on financing for national development, addressed the World Customs Organization Conference on stronger ECOWAS trade and border integration, and relaunched Sierratel through a partnership with Africell.
The President also commissioned historic 40MW solar power projects in Newton and Lungi, marking a significant step towards energy security and sustainable development, while inspecting the Lungi Conference Centre ahead of the ECOWAS Summit and supporting initiatives in fisheries and marine resources.
The edition further captures the swearing-in of the new Solicitor-General, national solidarity following the passing of Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, engagements with SLPP supporters, Eid Ul-Adha prayers, and the welcome of returning Hajj pilgrims.
It concludes with President Bio paying final respects to the late Justice Nyawo Finda Matturi-Jones, honouring her distinguished service to Sierra Leoneβs justice sector.
Together, these milestones reflect Sierra Leoneβs continued drive for development, stronger partnerships, regional cooperation, and national transformation.
