Chief Minister of the Republic of Sierra Leone

The Office of the Chief Minister is a central coordinating body within the Executive Branch of the Government of Sierra Leone, established to enhance the effectiveness, coherence, and delivery of government policies and programs. It operates directly under the authority of the President and serves as a strategic interface between the Presidency and Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

The Chief Minister is appointed by the President and holds cabinet-level authority to coordinate the formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of high-priority government initiatives, including the President’s flagship Big Five Game Changers

Strategic Focus and Leadership

Under the leadership of the current Chief Minister, the Office emphasizes delivery, discipline, and data as the three pillars of effective governance. It works closely with the Presidential Delivery Unit, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, and development partners to ensure that national policies translate into measurable outcomes for citizens.

The Chief Minister also provides oversight for government transformation programs including digital governance, public sector digitization, decentralization, and performance contracts for ministers and agency heads.
