The Vice Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank Africa, Mr Richard Etemesi Wednesday 25th October, 2017 paid a courtesy call on President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma at State House in Freetown.
Mr Etemesi was in Sierra Leone to explore opportunities for better understanding of the country’s banking business, policy and regulations governing the industry. He disclosed that Standard Chartered Bank has identified education, agriculture, infrastructure and other sectors as possible areas of intervention.
Welcoming the Vice Chairman, President Koroma assured of government’s commitment to provide a conducive business environment, adding that the bank has a long history with Sierra Leone. He said Standard Chartered Bank has served as one of the leading banks in Sierra Leone with high level of professionalism and consistency, saying that the bank has been very supportive.
President Koroma also commended the new initiatives and policy approaches of the bank in supporting government through infrastructure, education and agriculture, pointing out that there are also huge potentials in tourism.
