|President Koroma Boosts School Feeding Programme|

As a firm believer in sharing, father of the nation, His Excellency the President, Dr Ernest Bai Koroma today (Tuesday February 7, 2017) donated food items as part of his personal contribution to the ongoing nationwide school feeding programme at State House in Freetown.
In his passionate statement, the president acknowledged challenges faced by the ongoing school feeding programme and therefore donated the following items, including 3 cows, 17 goats, 35 gallons of palm oil and two bags of native rice to boost the programme.
The items were passed on to the Minister of Education, Science and Technology 1, Dr Christiana Thorpe.
It could be recalled that President Koroma over the weekend travelled to the provinces where he officially opened the newly constructed Kenema – Pendembu highway as well as commissioned the construction of the Pendembu – Kailahun road project.
During the ceremony, the president received gifts of food items and country-cloth from natives of the eastern region as a show of appreciation.
Receiving the list of items, Madam Thorpe expressed delight and astonishment over the amazing gesture of the president and promised that the items will reach the intended beneficiaries.
